MP REVEALS JALSAGOR RESTAURANT WINS PLACE AT FINAL OF CURRY CUP

The Jalsagor restaurant of St Owen Street, Hereford has been chosen as one of eleven national finalists for the prestigious Veetee Tiffin Cup which is to be held in the House of Commons Wednesday 15th July 2009, Paul Keetch MP for Hereford is pleased to announce.

The competition is held each year to find the best South Asian restaurant in the country. The Tiffin Cup winner is chosen from a list of restaurants that have been nominated by local MPs and this year 58 restaurants were nominated.

Paul Keetch MP comments, "I am delighted that the Jalsagor has made it to the final of the Veetee Tiffin Cup following on from my nomination and very positive feedback from customers. This is such a prestigious award and I will certainly make every effort to be there for the final on 15th July and I am sure everyone in Hereford will be rooting for our restaurant."

Keith Vaz MP, the co chair of the Veetee Tiffin Cup said, "We are delighted that the Jalsagor has beaten stiff competition in order to become one of this year's finalists. This is a great tribute not just to the nomination of the local MP, Paul Keetch, but also to the constituency of Hereford as a whole and we wish them luck in the competition."
