Keetch Supports Alzheimer's Awareness Week

During Alzheimer's Awareness Week 2-8 July 2000, the Alzheimer's Society will be raising awareness of the problems that people with dementia may face in relation to food and drink. The Society will be talking to those who have responsibility for the care of people with dementia about how food and drink - one of the most fundamental aspects of care and quality of life - can be improved in care homes, hospitals and in the community.

"Over 910 people in Hereford constituency have dementia - this means that three times that number is affected by the results of this terrible situation" said Paul Keetch. " I am very happy to be supporting the Alzheimer's Society in their campaign."

Harry Cayton, chief executive of the Alzheimer's Society said "I'm pleased that Paul Keetch MP is supporting lzheimer's Awareness Week. The week is all about improving the care of people with dementia and providing the right information and advice to their carers. We hope that as many people as possible will support us in this campaign".
